Hands-On Workshop about Mic Modeling at TMT2018
I’m very excited to have been invited to present a workshop about microphone modeling at the upcoming Tonmeistertagung in Cologne, Germany. As part of the Sound & Recording studio scene I’ll talking about the Townsend Labs Sphere system as well as other mic modeling solutions.
Several manufacturers now offer modeling microphones, but understanding the distinctions between the different offerings and what they might mean for the real world application can be hard. This workshop provides a concise overview of the various available systems and how they compare. We will then have a close-up look at the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 mic modeling system and what it’s like working with this solution in the studio. A special focus will be on how to use this technology to achieve great results quickly, solve common recording problems, and developing new creative workflows that would be impossible with traditional microphones.
There’ll be two workshops, one in English and one in German. The English workshops takes place on Thursday, November 15th, while the German edition is happening on Friday, November 16th. Both events take place a 2:00 pm. For the first time this year, the Tonmeister society is offering reduced price, exhibit-only tickets for as low as 15 Euros.
